Zhao’s addition is part of the expansion of Brim’s executive team to support market demand for the company’s flexible and scalable embedded finance solutions, including Brim’s platform-as-a-service (PaaS) and credit card infrastructure.

Zhao is a proven executive with more than 20 years of experience in the fintech industry, most recently serving as vice president of finance and revenue operations at Marqeta, where he was instrumental in building a first-class finance function to support the company’s rapid growth, including multiple rounds of capital raise and a successful IPO in 2021. Prior to joining Marqeta, Zhao worked with PayPal holding various leadership roles, responsible for North American Finance and led the Braintree finance and analytics team. Zhao also served as a senior financial analyst at HSBC Card Services.
